Presidency Replies NASS, Says Poor Nigerians Don’t Need Internet, BVN To Access The Social Investment Programme
The Presidency has replied the leadership of the National Assembly and the Nigerian media on the misconceptions on the Social Investment Programmes.
In a statement by Maryam Uwais – Special Adviser to the President on Social Investments – the Presidency detailed how National Social Investment Programme works and how the poor and vulnerable are reached.
Mrs Uwais described some of the lawmakers’ claims as false and another as “regrettable and dangerous.”
She said, “The National Cash Transfer Programme derives all the cash transfer beneficiaries from a National Social Register (NSR), comprising State Social Registers that are developed and hosted by the State Ministries of Panning of each State.
